BROOKINGS – The Bobcat girls’ tennis team picked up its first victory of the season, beating Rapid City Central 6-3 on Friday evening at Hillcrest.
Skylor Ness dropped Harper Keim 10-4 in the No. 1 singles match.
Tristina Ting and Isha Hooda both cruised to 10-2 victories, with Ting topping Kiana Johnson at No. 3 and Hooda defeating Mehrezat Abbas at No. 6.
Paige Foster added a 10-7 win over Cordelia Raforth in the No. 4 singles match.
In doubles, Ting and Foster beat Johnson and Raforth 10-4 at No. 2. Ainsley Shelsta and Hooda toppled Arianna Doty and Abbas 10-7 in the No. 3 matchup.
Keim and Lindsey Pfingston defeated Ness and Lynn Foster 10-3 in the No. 1 doubles match.
Brookings (1-12) heads to Huron today to face Watertown at 10 a.m. and the host Tigers at 12:30 p.m.
