Bobcats pick up road win over Lady Governors in four sets

PIERRE – The Bobcats dropped the Lady Govs 25-15, 25-14, 18-25, 25-21 in an Eastern South Dakota Conference volleyball match Tuesday night.

Kailee Bartels led the way with 15 kills and Johanna Miller added 11.

Kylie Tucker recorded seven kills, 3 1/2 blocks (one solo) and a pair of service aces.

Michaela Jewett guided the offense with 36 set assists and paced the defense with 24 digs. She added six kills and two aces.

Miranda Ysbrand came up with 21 digs and Ashlyn Borah 14. Borah had two aces.

For Pierre (8-11, 3-5), Emry Heiss had 12 kills and Addy Smith and Raegan Wiebe contributed seven apiece. Abbi Kitts notched 18 digs.

Brookings finished with a 6-2 record in ESD matches.

The Bobcats (13-12) play at Harrisburg on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

ARLINGTON – In a matchup of the top teams in Region 4B and Region 3B, the Flyers swept the Cardinals by the set scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-15 on Tuesday.

Jadon Wages recorded 15 kills and Jadya Kenyon chipped in with nine while also recording a pair of blocks.

Hailey Ewoldt dished out 41 set assists and netted a trio of aces.

Hanna Reiff came up with 31 digs and recorded a pair of aces. Makenna Larson notched 25 digs.

Chester finished the regular season with a 22-5 record.

Arlington’s Jayna Haufschild had 14 kills and Hadley Carlson added eight to go with 15 digs.

Marissa Baker tallied 21 set assists. Jeryn Christensen came up with 29 digs.

Gracy Parry contributed two aces and a block, while Baker and Carlson added an ace apiece.

Arlington (21-7) hosts a Region 3B quarterfinal on Tuesday.

DELL RAPIDS – The Quarriers (20-8) closed out the regular season with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-19 defeat of the Lady Elks.

ELB (16-14) have a Region 4B quarterfinal match Tuesday in Madison.

DELL RAPIDS – Colman-Egan swept Dell Rapids St. Mary 25-20, 25-12, 25-18 in a Dakota Valley Conference volleyball match Monday.

The Hawks’ Mackenzie Hemmer had nine kills, three aces and four digs. Braiden Westley added eight kills, five blocks, three aces and eight digs. Olivia Baumberger contributed four kills and three blocks.

Elizabeth Moore totaled seven aces and seven digs. Jordan Wittrock (11) and Kennedi Landis (eight) combined for 19 set assists.

Colman-Egan finished 4-5 in DVC play.

Veronica Beck had eight kills and two aces for the Cardinals who were 3-6 in league matches.
