Brookings remained at No. 4 in the South Dakota Football Coaches Association Poll that was released on Monday.
The Bobcats 51 points to stay in fourth in the Class AA rankings. Pierre received all 27 first place votes and had 135 points. Tea Area is No. 2 with 107 points and Yankton is No. 3 with 73 points.
Brookings (3-1) plays at winless Douglas this Friday at 7 p.m. The ‘Cats then have a big matchup with Yankton on Sept. 30.
Elkton-Lake Benton, who improved to 5-0 on Friday with a win over Canistota, moved into the top five in Class 9AA. The Elks took the No. 5 spot with 36 points and one first place vote.
Howard has the No. 1 spot in that class with 21 first place votes and 120 points. Wall is No. 2 with four first place votes and 93 points. Hamlin is No. 3 with 69 points and two first place votes and Hanson is No. 4 with 46 points.
The Elks host winless Iroquois/Lake Preston on Friday at 7 p.m.
Sioux Valley was not in top five of the Class 11B poll, but the Cossacks received seven votes. Sioux Valley hosts McCook Central/Montrose on Friday at 7 p.m. The Cougars received eight votes in this week’s poll.
