BROOKINGS – The Bobcats dominated play in an 8-1 win over Sioux Falls Christian in a high school tennis dual at the Hillcrest Courts on Monday.
Brookings won all six singles matches and two of the doubles matches as Jonah Dobbs posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Logan Aukes at No. 1 while Dalton Rittershaus defeated Elijah Bird, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2. Dobbs and Rittershaus then teamed to beat Aukes and Levi DeWitt, 6-2 and 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Micah Ardry downed Andrew Unruh, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles as Zach Weber won 6-4, 6-2 over Slava Zhulin at No. 4. Ardry and Weber combined for a 6-2, 7-5 win over Unruh and Zulin at No. 2 doubles.
Alex Miley shut out Austin Prins, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles and Dawson Peters bettered Dylan VanRuler, by a 6-4, 6-2 score. Prins and Bird earned the Chargers only point with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Brookings, which improved to 8-13 in dual matches, travels to Brandon on Friday to compete in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament.
