BROOKINGS – The Bobcats split a softball doubleheader with Harrisburg on Monday at Southside Park, winning the nightcap 6-3 after dropping the opener 15-5.
Brookings returns to action playing host to Mitchell on Thursday at 6:15 p.m.
Game 1
• Harrisburg 15, Brookings 5
Peyton Evans went 3-for-3 to pace the Bobcats.
Britta Kratz added two hits. Riley Weisbeck, Ingrid Otterson, Delaney LaFramboise, Sydney Grendler and Brooklyn Roberts added one hit apiece.
Roberts scored twice.
• Brookings 6, Harrisburg 3
Emma Hardin struck out 15 batters, including 11 of the first 13 batters she faced, as the Bobcats earned a split.
Hardin gave up just four hits and walked one batter.
Kratz finished 2-for-4 to lead the offense. Hardin had a hit and two runs scored.
Evans and LaFramboise each added a hit.
Brookings scored one run in the first inning and four in both the fourth and fifth frames to move ahead 5-0.
Saturday
Bobcats, Arrows split DH
WATERTOWN – The Bobcats won the opener 9-3 and the Arrows took the nightcap by a 13-7 margin.
Game 1
• Brookings 9, Watertown 3
Emma Harding tossed a six-hitter for the Bobcats.
Brooklyn Roberts, who doubled, and Ingrid Otterson both went 2-for-3. Roberts had three RBIs.
Harding and Delaney LaFramboise added two singles apiece.
Peyton Evans tripled. Riley Weisbeck, Jaden Houtman and Jaden Runge had the team’s other hits. Houtman totaled two RBIs.
Evans and Sierra Stevens scored a pair of runs apiece. Weisbeck, LaFramboise, Evans and Otterson each drove in a run.
Game 2
• Watertown 13, Brookings 7
The Arrows piled up 18 hits to salvage a split.
Maddie Gronau, Anna Hoffman and Elena Hoffman each went 3-for-4. Jayla Haught and Elena Hoffman each drove in three runs. Anna Hoffman scored four times.
Harding finished 2-for-3 for Brookings. LaFramboise and Roberts tallied two RBIs apiece, while Evans and Sydney Grendler both added one. LaFramboise scored twice.
