The Brookings Bombers Black team had a pair of doubleheaders this weekend against Yankton and Mitchell. Brookings split each doubleheader to go 2-2 on the weekend.

YANKTON – The Bombers gave up 12 runs in the final two innings as they saw Yankton come away with a 15-5 win in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Owen Schneider and Austin Clark each went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Griffen Bartels went 1-for-2. Clark picked up the loss for Brookings after pitching four of the five innings. He gave up seven runs, one earned on three hits. He struck out three batters and walked three.

Brookings scored eight runs in the fifth inning, which ended up being the last inning and they won game two in a shootout.
Clark went 3-for-4 with three RBI’s. Breck Hirrschoff went 1-for-1 with three RBI’s. Nolan Miles went 3-for-4 with three RBI’s and Schneider went 3-for-4 with two RBI’s. David Brink picked up the win for the Bombers after pitching the final four innings. He gave up one earned run on one hit. He struck out two batters and walked three.

MITCHELL – Brookings jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but got outscored 7-0 in the final three innings in the first game of the day on Saturday.
Miles went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jack Merritt and Schneider each went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Schneider took the loss for Brookings. He pitched four innings and gave up four earned runs on five hits. He struck out five batters and walked three.

The Bombers offense clicked in the second game against Mitchell. They put up 17 runs and outscored Mitchell 12-1 in the final two innings and won via the 10-run rule.

Clark went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Miles went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ronning picked up the win for the Bombers after pitching a complete game. He gave up four runs, three earned on seven hits. He struck out one batter and walked four.
