BROOKINGS – The Bombers Black swept Marshall, Minn., in a youth baseball doubleheader Thursday at Mickelson Field, winning by the scores of 7-2 and 10-0 (six innings).
Brookings (17-11) plays a twinbill at Watertown on Monday at 5 p.m.
Game 1
• Brookings 7, Marshall 2
Jackson Krogman pitched five scoreless innings and the Bombers Black racked up 10 hits in the victory.
Brookings scored two runs in the third, one in both the fourth and fifth, and three in the sixth to move ahead 7-0.
Krogman allowed two hits and a pair of walks while striking out six batters. He went 2-for-3 with a double at the plate and scored twice.
Maxwell Kjelden doubled and drove in two runs.
Noah Bayer and Cole Mahlum both finished 2-for-3. Max Struck, who scored two runs, Jamison Honkomp and Mason Bebensee were each credited with a single and an RBI.
Henry Hammrich pitched the final two frames, giving up two runs – one earned – on one hit and two walks with one strikeout.

Mahlum led Brookings’ 15-hit attack with a 4-for-4 performance as the Bombers Black easily completed the sweep.
Kyle Bauer pitched five innings of four-hit ball, striking out three and walking one. Mahlum retired all three batters he faced in the sixth.
Among Mahlum’s four hits was a triple. He drove in three runs and scored three times.
Reid Brettschneider finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs.
Kjelden, who scored twice, and Struck added two hits apiece. John Nordsy doubled and had one RBI. Bauer recorded a single and an RBI, and scored twice.
Krogman and Wesley Koenig added a hit apiece.
