ELMHURST, Ill. – For the first time in her career, South Dakota State’s Sydney Bormann was named Summit League Women’s Golfer of the Week, announced Thursday by the league office.

The sophomore won her first individual title after shooting a career-best-tying 144 (71-73) in the Lady Thunderbird Invitational on March 15-16 at the 6,050-yard, par-72 Sunbrook Golf Course St. George, Utah.

The Parkston native is third on the team and 10th in the conference with a 75.88 stroke average over 26 rounds.

Bormann joins Teresa Toscano (twice) and Cassidy Laidlaw as Summit League Golfers of the Week this season.

The Jackrabbits return to action April 9-10 in their regular-season finale at the Kansas City Intercollegiate in Kansas City, Mo.
