BPD police log Aug. 2-6

Thursday, Aug. 2

1:05 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1500 block of 22nd Avenue. An investigation was conducted, and arrests were made for drug charges as well as DUI. A report was filed.

9:37 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Orchard Drive. A female driver was arrested on a warrant and ticketed for driving while suspended.

1:02 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation.

1:05 p.m. Officers took a report of theft in the 700 block of Third Street South.

1:34 p.m. Officers were called to the 500 block of Sixth Street for a shoplifting call. The suspect was ticketed and set up with a court date.

2:29 p.m. Officers arrested an individual for a warrant in the 900 block of Fourth Street.

Friday, Aug. 3

2:32 p.m. Officers attempted to stop an ATV for a traffic violation. The driver fled from police but was later arrested for the violations.

4:18 p.m. Officers took a report of harassment in the lobby of the police department.

6:03 p.m. Officer Jurrens visited with some people about a juvenile who was wanting to move out on her own. The officer was later informed the juvenile ran out of the house. She turned herself in so she could ask questions and was returned home.

Saturday, Aug. 4

10:23 p.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. During the stop, factors of criminal activity were observed, and police service dog Gina was deployed around the vehicle. Gina indicated to the odor of illegal drugs. Drug paraphernalia was located in the car.

Sunday, Aug. 5

2:08 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Seventh Street for the report of vandalism that occurred. Two males were located and charged.

10:18 a.m. Officer Franklin took a report of petty theft in the 2200 block of Sixth Street.

10:54 a.m. Officer Schneider responded to the Brookings ER for a report of an animal scratch. Information was given to the animal control officer.

4:33 p.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of Main Avenue for a trespassing report. One male was issued a no trespass order.

Monday, Aug. 6

12:48 p.m. Officers took a report of theft in the 700 block of Eighth Street South.

2:33 p.m. Officer Schneider responded to the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A city accident report was filed.
