Friday, Aug. 24 

7:58 a.m. Officer Larsen was dispatched to the 1800 block of Victory Street for a report of a vehicle that had been rummaged through. It is currently under investigation.

8:31 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a fraud report. Some rent checks were taken and deposited by someone after they were mailed. The incident is being investigated.

9:30 a.m. An adult male reported his vehicle was stolen during the night.

12:11 p.m. Officer Larsen was dispatched to the 1800 block of Sixth Street for a non-injury crash. A state crash report was filed.

1:16 p.m. An ambulance was requested at Heartland Vet Clinic.

2:04 p.m. A non-injury accident was reported.

10:02 p.m. Officer DeJong conducted a traffic stop near the 1100 block of Main Avenue South. An investigation was made, and the driver was arrested for possession of fictitious driver’s license.

10:54 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of First Avenue for a possible assault involving two juveniles. An investigation is ongoing.

Saturday, Aug. 25

2:06 a.m. Officers responded to Fourth Street and Main Avenue for a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The matter remains under investigation.

8:05 a.m. Officer Weinrich was contacted in regard to an ongoing investigation. An investigation is pending.

Sunday, Aug. 26

12:26 a.m. An individual with an active warrant was apprehended in the 300 block of Third Street.

12:38 a.m. Officers responded to the corner of Third Street and Main Avenue for an assault. A male was arrested.

5:05 a.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of Faculty Drive for a report of a three-vehicle crash with injuries. One male was taken by ambulance to the Brookings E.R. for injures from the crash; the other two vehicles were parked unoccupied. A state accident report was filed.

6:18 a.m. Officer Pollman took a report of theft that occurred in the 900 block of Sixth Street.

10:50 a.m. Officer Popp served a warrant at the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office on a male who turned himself in.

1:05 p.m. Officer Jurrens responded to a family argument in the 900 block of Southland Lane.

1:19 p.m. Officer Pollman was dispatched to the 500 block of Eighth Street South for a juvenile incident involving a weapons violation. A case report was filed, and juvenile charges are pending.

7:27 p.m. DUI-third offense; stop lamps required; fail to use seat belts – front seat

Monday, Aug. 27

8 a.m. Officer Bonnema responded to an accident involving two vehicles. A state accident report was completed.

11:26 a.m. Officer Jurrens responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision in the 200 block of Pine Ridge Road.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

11:14 a.m. Officers responded to a Brookings residence in regard to a family argument.

11:33 a.m. Possession of marijuana, 2 ounces or less

1:44 p.m. Officer Larsen was dispatched to the intersection of Medary Avenue and Highway 14 bypass for a hit-and-run crash. The suspect was later located and cited. A state crash report has been filed.

2:01 p.m. Officers responded to an accident involving a car hitting a building. One individual was taken to the hospital. A report was filed.

4:06 p.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a motor vehicle for speeding. The driver was arrested for possessing concealed weapons without a permit.
