7:42 a.m. Criminal entry of a motor vehicle

8:02 a.m. Officers took a report of vandalism in the 400 block of Fourth Street.

8:16 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Main Avenue South and Second Street South for a vehicle that made an improper righthand turn. An investigation was made, and the driver arrested for DUI-first offense.

10:25 a.m. Officers conducted a welfare check on the interstate near milemarker 132.

1:15 p.m. Distribute/possession with intent to distribute drugs in a drug-free zone; ingestion of a controlled drug or substance as felony; distribute/manufacture of a controlled drug or substance

2:18 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on driver’s license violations. The vehicle was towed.

6:48 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a report that someone may have entered a residence in the 1400 block of Yosemite Lane. Officers responded to the residence but did not find anyone inside. The caller also found some items that officers determined to have been stolen from a vehicle.

7:50 p.m. Officers responded to the 2500 block of Sixth Street to conduct a welfare check. One subject was later located and transported to speak with a counselor.

Tuesday, July 24

12:29 a.m. Officers responded to the 900 block of Southland Lane due to a report of a domestic disturbance. The incident was later downgraded to a medical issue and turned over to Emergency Medical Services.

2:29 a.m. Officer Popp initiated contact with a vehicle and five individuals who were in Pioneer Park during the park’s closed hours. A male was arrested for two felony warrants out of Minnehaha County.

7:34 a.m. Officers received a phone call about drug information.
