BPD police log June 17-19

1:43 a.m. Officer Popp, while on random patrol downtown, stopped at the sound of a fight in progress in the 300 block of Main. Two elderly males were issued citations for city ordinance disturbing the peace and released.

2:20 a.m. Disorderly conduct

1:54 p.m. A party called and wanted to report stalking and possible protection order violation.

Monday, June 18

7 a.m. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Main Avenue South for a fight. A male was arrested for disorderly conduct.

8:11 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Medary Avenue South and Eighth Street South for a hit-and-run vehicle crash. The other vehicle was located, and a state accident report was filed.

9:53 a.m. A young child was found, and police were called. The child was returned to their family.

11:33 a.m. Officers received a phone call about a hit-and-run from the night of June 15. A report was filed, and the individual was found.

11:47 a.m. Officer Franklin responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 3200 block of Sixth Street.

11:57 a.m. Officers were dispatched for a gas drive-off. A report was filed.

3:39 p.m. First-degree burglary – inflict injury on another and  possess weapon.

9:45 p.m. Officer Bonnema assisted a UPD officer on a traffic stop. Police service dog Gina was deployed around the vehicle and indicated the odor of illegal drugs. The driver was arrested for drug charges by the UPD officer.

Tuesday, June 19

7:45 a.m. Officers responded to the 1500 block of Orchard Drive for a hit-and-run vehicle crash. A report was filed.

8:10 a.m. Officer Franklin responded to a single-vehicle, non-injury accident in the 2700 block of Sixth Street.

6:13 p.m. Officer Asmus was dispatched to the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South for the report of a car vs. pedestrian accident. The pedestrian was treated by Brookings Ambulance for minor injuries, and a report was filed.

10:24 p.m. Officer Bonnema responded to a Brookings residence in regard to a verbal argument.
