Wednesday, June 20

1:54 a.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Sixth Street and 22nd Avenue. A report was completed.

3:35 p.m. Officers went to the 2500 block of Sixth Street for a report of drug activity.

5:46 p.m. Grand theft, over $1,000

7:08 p.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana. The passenger was arrested for ingesting.

Thursday, June 21

1:28 a.m. Officer Popp stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 600 block of West Sixth Street. The driver was arrested for DUI.

2:12 a.m. A vehicle was stopped near the intersection of 15th Street South and Christine Avenue for a vehicle that drove over a curb while turning right. The driver was identified, and citations were written for right turn violation, violation of restricted permit and no Insurance. The juvenile driver was released to a parent. During an inventory search of the vehicle, marijuana was found.

Friday, June 22

7:54 a.m. Officers responded to a non-injury crash in the 800 block of Seventh Avenue. A report was filed.

1:57 p.m. Credit card/ATM fraud

Saturday, June 23

12:39 a.m. Officer Weinrich conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of 34th Avenue South for suspicious activity. The driver was arrested for DUI and drug-related charges.

12:55 a.m. Officer Popp stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Fourth Street for a stop sign violation. The driver and front passenger were arrested for warrants. The vehicle was towed for no insurance.

2:05 a.m. Improper left turn; DUI-second offense

12:49 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 12th Street South for a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of Eighth Street South and Southland Lane. The driver was then taken into custody for several offenses. A report was filed.

12:59 p.m. Officer Franklin responded to the report of hit-and-run in the 400 block of Harvey Dunn Street.

1:34 p.m. Officer Franklin responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 200 block of Sixth Street.

Sunday, June 24

12:06 a.m. A female came to the police department with questions regarding child custody and a protection order.

6:42 a.m. Officer DeJong conducted a traffic stop near the 500 block of Main Avenue South. An investigation was made, and the driver was arrested for a warrant out of Codington County. A report was filed.

4:06 p.m. Officer Schneider responded to the 700 block of 22nd Avenue South for a report of a single-vehicle, non-injury accident.

4:13 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Sixth Street for a possible no contact order violation. A report was filed.

11:41 p.m. Officer Asmus responded to mile marker 418 on U.S. Highway 14 for a one-vehicle accident involving a deer. A state accident report was filed.

Monday, June 25

12:56 a.m. Officer Asmus was dispatched to the 500 block of Eighth Street South for drug-related call. A male was arrested, and a report was filed.

8 a.m. Drug information

10:56 a.m. The police department received a Department of Social Services referral regarding a possible sexual assault that occurred in Brookings.

2:07 p.m. Officers took a report of an accident near the 300 block of Sixth Avenue.
