BPD police log June 26-27

Tuesday, June 26

1:18 a.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of 13th Avenue due to a report of a noise disturbance. No arrests were made, and a report has been generated.

3:29 a.m. Officers were requested to the 300 block of Half Moon Road for a report of a possible burglary in progress. A search was completed, and no signs of a burglary were located.

2:54 p.m. Officers spoke with a Brookings resident regarding theft of items from a vehicle. There are no suspects at this time. A report was filed.

3:30 p.m. Officers responded to a crash in the 2000 block of Eighth Street South.

6:55 p.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of 15th Street South for a report of a 3-year-old boy who was playing around in puddles out in the street and then on the playground without any supervision. Officers arrived and made contact with the child’s father. A Department of Social Services referral was documented and forwarded.

8:38 p.m. Officer Jurrens stopped a vehicle for a license plate violation. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and maintenance of financial responsibility.

Wednesday, June 27

9:19 a.m. Information was passed along to the Brookings Police Department regarding threats made online. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

9:35 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Harvey Dunn for a non-injury accident. A report was filed.

1 p.m. Officer Schneider took a report of a scam. A report was filed.

2:47 p.m. Officers took a male into custody for a probation hold in the 500 block of 15th Street South.

10:01 p.m. Officer Asmus responded to the 1000 block of Western Avenue for a female refusing to leave a residence. The female was arrested for multiple warrants.
