BPD police log June 9-11

Saturday, June 9

1:30 a.m. Officers took a report of a sex offense in the 1700 block of 32nd Street South.

9:02 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a vandalism report in the 300 block of Medary Avenue South. Someone spray painted the side of a trailer. The incident is being investigated.

9:10 a.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, behaviors commonly associated with criminal activity were observed. Police service dog Gina was deployed around the vehicle and indicated to the odor of illegal drugs. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, underage purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages, and unlicensed or obstructed plates.

9:57 a.m. Officer Asmus responded to the 500 block of Main Avenue for a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A state accident report was filed.

4:41 p.m. Disorderly conduct

11:09 p.m. Possession of marijuana, 2 ounces or less; speeding, 6-10 mph over

Sunday, June 10

2:41 a.m. Officer Schneider responded to the 2100 block of 22nd Avenue South for a report of a runaway juvenile. A state case has been generated.

6:03 p.m. Officer Schneider was dispatched to the 800 block of Arrowhead Pass for a report of a theft from a vehicle. There are no suspects at this time.

Monday, June 11

8:09 a.m. Information in regard to a narcotics violation was provided to officers. Two arrests were later made in the 1000 block of Southland Lane.

9:25 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a scam report involving a fraudulent credit card. A possible name and pictures of the suspect were provided, and the incident is being investigated.

3:21 p.m. A Brookings resident called the police station to file a report of theft from her vehicle. A report has been generated.
