BPD police log May 15-17

Tuesday, May 15

11:35 a.m. Officer Weinrich conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 20th Street South for a lane driving violation. The driver was arrested for DUI-first offense and no insurance.

3:11 p.m. Officer Weinrich was dispatched to the 1300 block of King Arthur Court for a report of vandalism. A report was filed.

11:48 p.m. Driving while suspended

Wednesday, May 16

11:31 a.m. Officers served a warrant on a male on the 500 block of Fifth Avenue South. The male was taken into custody without incident, and a report was filed.

2:51 p.m. Sgt. Bush and Officer Asmus responded to the 500 block of Main Avenue South for the report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident. A state accident report was filed.

3:01 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 22nd Avenue South for a group of juveniles who were refusing to leave a business. Officers responded, and the juveniles decided to take off running. They were stopped and identified. Parents were all notified, and trespass notices were given to the juveniles. A report was filed.

Thursday, May 17

11:05 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a report of threatening messages which were sent to a Brookings resident through social media.

11:12 a.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a vehicle for traffic violation. The driver was arrested for multiple warrants.

1:22 p.m. Officer Asmus conducted a welfare check of a male on the 700 block of Main Avenue South. A report was filed.

8:42 p.m. Officer responded to the 300 block of 22nd Avenue for the report of an assault.
