BPD police log May 18-20

11:16 a.m. Officer McCaskill received a walk-in report of a stolen bicycle. An individual reported their bicycle stolen from the 100 block of Second Avenue South.

3:30 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received a report of an individual trespassing at a business in the 200 block of Main Avenue South. One individual was arrested.

4:19 p.m. Possession of a controlled drug or substance; possession or use of drug paraphernalia; failure to maintain financial responsibility; driving while suspended.

8:28 p.m. Officers responded to a welfare concern in the 500 block of 15th Street South. The individual made several threats directed toward the law enforcement officers and was arrested.

8:49 p.m. Officer Franklin responded to a report of theft in the 2500 block of Sixth Street.

Saturday, May 19

1:15 a.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Avenue for a report of an assault. Statements were taken from witnesses, and as a result, one individual was arrested and charged with simple assault.

2:22 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 300 block of Main Avenue. A report was taken.

8:18 a.m. Officers were requested to the Brookings County jail to assist with moving an inmate. A report was filed.

2:47 p.m. Speeding, 6-10 mph over; fail to maintain financial responsibility

11:04 p.m. Possession or use of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana, two ounces or less; ingest, inhale substance to become intoxicated

Sunday, May 20

12:18 a.m. Officer Lantgen stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for DUI.

11:15 a.m. Officer Jurrens stopped a vehicle for no license plates. The vehicle was impounded for maintenance of financial responsibility.

7:58 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near the 1100 block of Medary Avenue South. The passenger was arrested for a Brookings County warrant.
