Sunday, May 27
1:17 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Third Street for a male acting disorderly. The male was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and obstructing officers. A report was filed.
8:35 a.m. Officer Asmus took a report of vandalism on the 2900 block of 22nd Avenue South. A report was filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
12:48 p.m. The Brookings Police Department received information about drug activity in Brookings.
1:32 p.m. Officer Bonnema stopped a vehicle for a violation. During the stop, indicators of criminal activity were observed. Police service dog Gina was deployed around the vehicle, and she indicated to the odor of illegal drugs. The driver and three passengers were arrested for: ingesting, inhaling substance to become intoxicated; possession of a controlled drug or substance; possession of marijuana, and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.
Monday, May 28
3:41 p.m. Officer Popp responded to a report of two juvenile females who had shoplifted at Walmart. Both were issued juvenile citations and released to their parents.
7:48 p.m. Police and paramedics responded to the 900 block of Sixth Street to a report of an individual who believed he had been drugged. The individual was transported to the hospital, and a report was filed.
