BROOKINGS – A person was home when someone tried to break into their house Sunday, according to Brookings Police.
The report came in shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday from the 500 block of Fifth Avenue South, said Lt. Derrick Powers.
“While he was at home, someone attempted to break into his residence by kicking in the door,” Powers said.
“Suspects weren’t able to make entry,” he added. “Suspects fled the scene before our arrival.”
The door frame was damaged, but Powers had no estimate.
“It remains under investigation,” he said.
