The Brookings High School Clay Target Team that competed at the 2018 South Dakota High School Clay Tournament State Meet poses with their plaques and medals following Saturday’s competition.

The Bobcats placed third in the Varsity competition with 465 points – to Pierre’s 471 and Platte-Geddes’ 467 – and second in the Junior Varsity competition with 418 points – to Platte-Geddes’ 419.

Additionally, the ‘Cats brought home some individual honors as Evan Koerner won the Varsity High Gun Male and Overall High Gun awards with a 98 as he joined the 50 Straight Club.

Joining Koerner on the 25 Straight Club were Mathew Smith, Mandy Syhre, Konnor McClain and Cody Larson, who won the Junior Varsity Male High Gun award with a 92.

Cody Caraway placed third in the Novice Male High Gun rankings as Peder Haugan, Koerner, Smith and Zane Derynck earned All-State awards.
