BROOKINGS – The 3M Foundation and 3M Brookings are pleased to announce that 17 local organizations have been awarded grants ranging from $500 to $7500 and totaling $38,900.

The 17 local organizations include: Advance, American Red Cross, Brookings Area Transit Authority, Brookings Backpack Project, Boys and Girls Club of Brookings, Brookings County Youth Mentoring, Brookings Domestic Abuse Shelter, EC CASA, ICAP: Head Start and 60’s Plus Dining, Brookings Food Pantry, Great After School Place, Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity, Harvest Table, Volunteer Service Bank, My Neighbor and Brookings Area United Way.

“These funds are so greatly appreciated by all the nonprofits that receive them. They are coming at a time that many organizations have seen an increase in costs as hey are providing more services, or the way they provide services has been forced to change,” says Heidi Gullickson, Brookings Area United Way.

The 3M Foundation invests in nonprofit community organizations that improve the standards of living in communities.
