Brookings bowlers split with S.F. Lincoln


BROOKINGS – The Bobcat boys topped Sioux Falls Lincoln 31-19 and the girls fell 44.5-5.5 on Friday at Prairie Lanes.

Alex Couser paced the boys with a 573 (180-224-169) series. Mason McManus added a 570 (198-158-214), Evan Vernarsky a 538 (198-160-180), Carter Hieb a 525 (202-170-153) and Lee Krueger a 515 (172-164-179). Stanley Scubelek contributed games of 169 and 146.

For the girls, Brooklyn Hieb (151-178-157) and Ellie Fitzpatrich (166-168-152) both rolled a 486 series. Kyra Ernst added a 461 (144-164-153), Katlyn Pederson a 369 (129-127-113) and Abby Fitzpatrick a 347 (118-145- 84). Alison Marshal had games of 121 and 110, while Brooke Seeley had a 130.

Brookings won the junior varsity boys’ matchup 21-0. David Eberline had a 397 (120-156-121) series and Travis Block tallied a 261 (71-113-76). Scubelek notched a 167 game, while Aarick Dicke had games of 139 and 204.

The Bobcats took the junior varsity girls’ match 11-0.

Brookings competes at Yankton on Friday at 4 p.m.
