BROOKINGS – The Brookings City Council has announced the start of City Council Community Office Hours.

The program begins Thursday and takes place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Kool Beans Coffee and Roasterie at 225 Main Ave. in downtown Brookings.

The office hours aim to increase engagement with community members by allowing an opportunity for residents to ask questions, voice concerns and better know their local elected officials. Council office hours allow for relaxed interaction to build stronger relationships with the community.

There is no agenda for the come-and-go event. Future office hours will be hosted quarterly at different locations around the community to be easily accessible to a variety of community members.

On Thursday, community members will have the opportunity to talk with Councilors Brianna Doran, Bonny Specker and Wayne Avery.
