Brookings eighth-graders split in finale

WATERTOWN – The Bobcat eighth-grade football team lost the A game versus the Arrows 30-0 but bounced back in the B game for a 12-0 triumph.

In the A game, Watertown had TD runs of 1, 3, 14 and 50 yards while also recovering a blocked punt in the end zone. Brookings’ Gabe Stern recovered a fumble and Cole Hockett intercepted a pass.

In the B game, Krayton Bergstrom had a 1-yard scoring plunge in the second quarter and Jacob Walsh had a 20-yarder in the fourth. Jared Erickson, Tyson Antonen and Brayden Love picked off passes. Sebastian Wilson and Love recovered fumbles.

The A team finished with an 0-6 record and the B team went 1-4.
