BROOKINGS – Brookings defeated Sioux Falls Lincoln by eight strokes in a varsity dual held at the Brookings Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
The Bobcats’ Egan Jensen and Jack Even shared medalist honors, each firing a 44 in the nine-hole event.
Kade Brecher and Nathan Brecher each shot a 45, Cale Jones recorded a 51, and Dylan VandeKop shot a 52 to round out the scoring for Brookings, who finished with a team score of 281.
Sioux Falls Lincoln was led by Connor Horr who shot a 46, Joe Osmundson a 47, and Braden Watembach a 48 to round out the top three Patriots’ scorers.
Lincoln as a team shot 289.
The Bobcats also won the junior varsity dual by two strokes, 291-293.
Issak Earley’s 43 was the low score in the JV dual as he claimed medalist honors, while Rhys Heiberger and Tyson Lunn each shot 47.
The Patriots JV was led by Quinton Hollan’s 45 and Cooper Schultz’s 48.
Brookings is right back in action today as they take part in the 14-team Yankton Invitational at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club starting at 10 a.m.
