Brookings prevails at Sioux Center

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Montana Myer netted the game-winner with 1:12 remaining to lift the Rangers over the Storm during South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association girls’ action late Friday.

Kiran Vugteveen assisted.

McKenna Geraets opened the scoring with a power-play goal with 5:22 left in the first period. Myer and Savannah Barber were credited with assists.

Sioux Center pulled even midway through the second after Adri Tinklenberg lit the lamp on a Jenna King assist.

Jadyn Runge made 24 saves to earn the win in goal. Allison Moore also stopped 24 shots for the Storm (4-7), who went 0-for-6 on the power play.

Brookings (6-1-0-1) plays at Sioux Falls today at 8:30 p.m. and at Aberdeen on Sunday at 1 p.m.
