BROOKINGS – Brookings Swim Club members once again rounded up their spare change for a great cause. The Annual Coin Dive has become a fun tradition for the club in which each of the swim training groups compete against each other to see who can collect the most coins.
On Coin Dive Day, each group dives for their spare change at the end of practice. This year, the group that collected the most change from the bottom of the pool in the allotted time was the Silver and Bronze group. These swimmers chose to donate the coins collected by all the groups – $506.34 – to the Humane Society.
Above, on Jan. 5, Brookings Swim Club Annual Coin Dive participants from the Silver and Bronze swim groups pose for a photo.
