Brookings TaeKwonDo participates in International Clark TaeKwonDo Tournament

BROOKINGS – Eight Brookings TaeKwonDo competition team athletes recently participated in the 18th International Clark TaeKwonDo Tournament in Clark.

The following athletes participated: Katie Bortnem (first in Forms, second in Sparring); Colton Brown (third in Forms, second in Sparring); Colby Frahm (first in Forms, fourth in Sparring); Chris Hornick (third in Forms, second in Sparring); Katie Messerli (third in Forms, third in Sparring); Brooklyn Schmidt (second in Forms, first in Sparring); Hope Stover (second in Sparring); and Laurissa Thomas (third in Forms, first in Sparring).

Three of the athletes are currently ranked nationally, as Thomas is No. 1, Frahm is No. 8 and Stover is No. 15. They will be competing in their respective divisions at the National USAT Tournament in Minneapolis in July.
