RAPID CITY – Brookings picked up a pair of wins over the weekend on a road trip to Rapid City, defeating both Rapid City Central and Rapid City Stevens in four sets each.

Brookings volleyball sweeps Rapid City

RAPID CITY – Brookings picked up a pair of wins over the weekend on a road trip to Rapid City, defeating both Rapid City Central and Rapid City Stevens in four sets each.

The Bobcats move their record to 3-5 and will host Brandon Valley tomorrow. First serve between Brookings and #5 Brandon Valley is set for 7 p.m.

Friday

 Brookings 3, RC Central 1

The Bobcats racked up 12 aces en route to a four-set win over the Cobblers.

Set scores were 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, and 25-9.

Tayla Dobrenski dropped in six aces and Morgan Linstad added five for Brookings.

Gracie Adamson had 22 of the Bobcats’ 45 kills, while Landree Wilson chipped in 11.

Dorenski, Sheridan, and Emily Harms all had three blocks each.

Riley Weisbeck’s 24 digs led the Bobcats. Adamson added 15.

Harms also had 42 set assists in the match.

Brookings won all preliminary matches held at Central High School.

The Bobcat JV and sophomores both won their matches in three sets.

The JV set scores were 25-13, 20-25, and 15-7, and the sophomores rallied to win 17-25, 25-17, and 15-12.

Both freshman “A” (25-12, 25-21) and freshman “B” (25-12, 25-8) picked up straight-set wins over the Cobblers.

Saturday

 Brookings 3, RC Stevens 1

The Bobcats finished up a 2-0 weekend with a win at Stevens High School, defeating the Raiders in four sets, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23, and 25-22.

Gracie Adamson and Landree Wilson each posted double-digit kill totals with 12 and 10, respectively.

Adamson also found the floor four times for service aces.

Riley Weisbeck led the team with 22 digs, while Adamson added 16 and Emily Harms provided 13.

Harms also had 31 set assists.

Tayla Dobrenski had five blocks at the net for Brookings.

The Bobcats also won all preliminary matches for a clean-sweep of the weekend.

The JV and sophomore matches went the three-set distance as Brookings won the JV match 25-22, 20-25, and 15-7, and the sophomore match 22-25, 25-22, and 15-12.

The freshman “A” and “B” each swept, “A” winning 25-23 and 25-16, and “B” claiming a 25-10, 25-20 win.
