Brookings volleyball swept in Mitchell

MITCHELL – The Brookings volleyball team fell to 3-8 after getting swept by Mitchell Tuesday night.

The Kernels won the first set 25-18 before beating the Bobcats 25-13 and 25-22 in sets two and three.

Landree Wilson led the Bobcats with 12 kills and 12 digs. Riley Weisbeck had 21 digs and Emily Harms had 24 assists. Gracie Adamson had 14 digs and seven kills. Tayla Dobrenski had three blocks and three kills.

The Kernels were led by Lizzie Tyler who had 16 assists, 14 digs and eight kills. Satah Sebert had 24 digs and Kasper Alm 16 kills. Sawyer Stoebner had seven blocks and Kaitlyn Christensen had six.

Brookings hosts Huron on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Area volleyball

Baltic and Deubrook Area came away with wins in volleyball Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs swept Elkton-Lake Benton and the Dolphins swept Deuel.

The Lady Bulldogs ran away with this match as they won in straight sets by the score of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-19.

The Lady Elks were led by Kailyn Drietz who had 17 digs and seven kills. Tevan Erickson had 22 assists and 19 digs. Rachael Krog had 13 digs and five kills. Kylie Ramlo had 12 digs and three kills. Kayla Goertz had 15 digs and Kinsley Krog had nine.

Elyssa Clark led Baltic with 13 kills and eight digs. Jacie Wendland had 16 assists and 15 digs. Baily Teveldal had 12 assists, seven digs and four kills. Emma VanRegenmorter had seven kills and seven digs. Cami Artz had seven digs and six kills. Sami Polzin had 13 digs and five kills. Madison Kennedy had 16 digs.

The Lady Elks are now 5-6 and host Colman-Egan on Thursday.

 Deubrook Area 3, Deuel 0

It was all Dolphins from the opening serve as they swept the Cardinals by scores of 25-9, 25-11 and 25-11.

Emma Vandermeer had 10 digs and nine kills for Deubrook Area. Miranda Moravetz had 19 digs and sevel kills. Brook Koppatschek had 15 assists and Ellie Koenig had 10. Taylor Ekern had 14 digs and Skyla Petersen had seven kills.

Haley Winter had 12 digs, seven kills and six blocks for Deuel. Haille Bury had 11 digs. Alyson Hagberg and Gracie Fieber each had five assists. Darby Koenecke had three kills.

The Dolphins have now won three in-a-row and are 7-5. They host Estelline/Hendricks at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
