BROOKINGS – The Brookings Bullets lost two games in 16U action Monday night.
The Bullets fell to Watertown 6-3 and then lost to Sioux Falls East 8-2.

Brookings had just five hits and were unable to come back from a 6-1 defecit.
Watertown scored three runs in the top of the first. Brookings responded with one run in the bottom of the inning. Sam Johnson singled and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-1.
Watertown knocked in a run in the second to make the lead three once again. They would extend the lead to 6-1 in the fifth.
The Bullets scored one run in the fifth and one run in the sixth.
Tate Helmbolt scored on a steal of home to make it 6-2. Jack Merritt then scored on a steal of home to make it 6-3.
Brookings went down one-two-three in the seventh to end the game.
Izaya Bangs Dandurand started the game for the Bullets. He pitched five innings and gave up six runs, five earned, on 12 hits with one strikeout and two walks. Griffen Bartels pitched the final two innings and shut Watertown out. He gave up one hit with no strikeouts and a walk.
Johnson was 2-for-3. Jacob Kahle was 1-for-2. Bangs Dandurand and Merritt were each 1-for-3.

The Bullets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but then saw their bats go quiet as they could not put any more runs on the board.
David Brink hit an RBI single to put Brookings up 1-0. Jacob Kahle then hit an RBI double to make it 2-0 after the first inning.
Sioux Falls East finally got on the board in the fourth inning. Aiden Doyle scored on an error. Nick Olson then hit a two-run double to give SF East the lead. Ryan Hirsch followed with an RBI single to make it 4-2.
SF East would tack on two more runs in the fifth. Adam Behrend and Olson each hit RBI singles to make it 7-2.
They would add an insurance run in the seventh when Hirsch hit an RBI single.
Brookings had just five hits in the game while SF East had 11. The Bullets had two errors as well.
Brink went 2-for-3 and Kahle went 1-for-2.
Merritt pitched a complete game for Brookings. He gave up eight runs, four earned, on 11 hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
The Bullets are now 6-20 and are scheduled to host a doubleheader against Harrisburg Maroon on Friday. The first game is scheduled for 5 p.m.
