BROOKINGS – Brookings First United Methodist Church was broken into Wednesday using forced entry, according to the Brookings Police.
The incident was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, and occurred the previous evening, Assistant Chief Derrick Powers said. No church staff or members were in the church, which is located in the 600 block of Fifth Street.
“We are still under investigation to determine the items which are missing from the church,” Powers said. “At this point, I don’t have a list of items. We’re working with the business to determine what, if anything, is missing.”
Powers said there was only minor damage done to the church.
