Kruse joins BHS hospitalist team

BROOKINGS – Dr. Jill Kruse recently joined the team of hospitalists at Brookings Health System. Hospitalists oversee the care of adult patients, 15 years and older, who are admitted to the Inpatient Care unit at Brookings Hospital.

The hospitalist program is focused care for inpatients staying at Brookings Hospital and was implemented to increase patient satisfaction and care quality. The hospitalists work closely with members of the hospital care team to provide comprehensive care during a patient’s stay.

Hospitalists do not replace a patients’ primary care provider but instead partner with the patients’ primary care provide to keep them updated on the patients’ condition and care along with creating a treatment plan after a patient leaves the hospital.

Kruse is trained in family medicine; prior to starting at Brookings Health, Kruse worked as a family medicine physician at Avera Medical Group Brookings for eight years.

Kruse received her medical degree from Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center. She performed her residency in family medicine at University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine in Baraboo.
