BROOKINGS – The seventh annual Cancer Shoot Out will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Brookings Gun Club. The Gun Club is located 2 miles east of Brookings on Highway 14.
Participants will be able to experience outdoor recreational activities to include trap, skeet, archery (with 3D targets) and yard games.
Organizers say this is the perfect time to show off skills and have fun for a great cause.
Proceeds from this free-will donation event will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and credited to Brookings County Relay fundraising efforts. Funds go toward projects like Hope House, wigs, breast prosthesis and a 24-hour hotline available to everyone here in the community.
Families, youth and adults are encouraged to attend. Donations allow attendees to participate in any or all of the scheduled activities and includes ammunition and equipment. Participants may also bring their own equipment for shotgun or archery activities including ammo/arrows. Safety will be encouraged and enforced at all stations.
The afternoon will highlight a Grocery Shoot where participants will compete for “grocery” prizes.
Organizers thank the Big Sioux Bowman for use of their equipment and the Brookings Gun Club for allowing use of their facility.
