BROOKINGS – Congresswoman Kristi Noem, Attorney General Marty Jackley, Secretary of State Shantel Krebs and Dusty Johnson will all address the Republicans at the Lincoln Day Dinner in Brookings on Friday.
The dinner will be held in the Daktronics room of the Swiftel Center, starting with a 5:30 p.m. social hour and a program at 6:15 p.m. Tickets to the Lincoln Day Dinner are $50 at the door, but RSVPs are preferred. Contact Mary Kidwiler at 690-6850.
Noem, the state’s current lone representative to the United States House of Representatives, will be running for the open governor’s seat in 2018. She grew up in Hamlin County, where she still lives today with her family.
Attorney General Marty Jackley, from Sturgis, is also a gubernatorial candidate for 2018. Previously, he served as the United States attorney for the District of South Dakota.
Krebs, South Dakota’s current Secretary of State, is seeking to represent South Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives. She resides in Fort Pierre and has previously served in the South Dakota House of Representatives.
Johnson who is also running for the open Congressional seat, will be the emcee of the evening. He is the former chair of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission and former chief of staff to Gov. Dennis Daugaard.
Sen. Mike Rounds will also be in attendance on Friday evening. The former governor lives in Pierre.
A silent auction and raffle will be held during the evening to raise money for the Brookings County Republicans and candidates running for office.
