Cash box stolen from business

BROOKINGS – A cash box was taken from a business office last week, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The burglary was reported at 7:35 p.m. Saturday and occurred in the 3400 block of Main Avenue South in rural Brookings, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.

“During the investigation, it was found entry was forced into an office door. Once inside, the unknown individual removed the cash box containing an undisclosed amount of cash and departed. Repairs to the building are still unknown at this time,” Sebring said.
