BRUCE – Four cows, including a calf, were shot and the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspects, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
The shooting was reported at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday and occurred in a pasture near 207th Street and 467th Avenue, southeast of Bruce, Sebring said.
“Three Charolais cows and a Charolais calf had been shot. Two cows and the calf were killed and the other cow wounded,” Sebring said.
The incident happened sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and the time it was reported, he added.
“The cows are valued at $3,000 each and the calf at $1,000,” Sebring reported.
The incident is under investigation with the Sheriff’s Office.
