Chargers take Class A crown


SPEARFISH – Sioux Falls Christian won the team title in the Class A State Girls’ Golf Tournament.

The Chargers closed with a 367 Tuesday at Spearfish Canyon to log a 719 total.

Sisseton (374) was second at 749.

Beresford’s Maiya Muller closed with an 80 to take medalist honors. She totaled a 155 for a one-stroke victory over Sisseton’s Kelsey Heath (81), who was 13 strokes clear of third.

Flandreau’s Keva Burshiem shot 83 in the final round and tied for fifth with a 36-hole tally of 173.

Sioux Valley’s Julia Steffensen tied for eighth, finishing at 174 following back-to-back 87s.

Caitlyn Cradduck (107) took 45th at 212 and Laryn Stevens (122) ended up 65th at 229.

The Fliers’ Tori Peterson (114) finished 59th at 223 and Rachel Heinemann (117) was 76th at 246.
