Although they weren’t selected in the National Football League Draft that concluded April 28, three former Jackrabbit standouts will get a chance to pursue their professional dreams.
Four-time All-America wide receiver Jake Wieneke has signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings. The Maple Grove, Minnesota, native set Jackrabbit and Missouri Valley Football Conference career records with 288 receptions, 5,157 receiving yards and 59 receiving touchdowns.
Receiving invitations to upcoming minicamps were center Jacob Ohnesorge (Seattle Seahawks) and Kellen Soulek (Indianapolis Colts).
Tight end Dallas Goedert was selected in the second round of the draft by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. Goedert was introduced by the Eagles on Saturday.
