BROOKINGS – Now that Brookings has a new mayor, it needs a new member of the Brookings City Council
The City of Brookings is now accepting applications for the city council position that will be vacated by Keith Corbett, who was elected as mayor Tuesday. The appointment term would be from May 9, 2017 to April 30, 2018.
Applicants must be a Brookings resident for a minimum of six months and registered to vote in Brookings.
Applications are available on the city website (www.cityofbrookings.org) or at the City Clerk’s Office, 520 Third St., Suite 230, Brookings, 692-6281.
The completed application and other required documents must be submitted to the city clerk no later than noon Friday, April 28.
All applicants will be invited to attend a special city council meeting at 5 p.m. May 3 to provide additional information and respond to questions.
The City Council is scheduled to vote on the appointment at 6 p.m. May 9.
