It seems we have been getting more than the usual amount of snow lately.
We would like to say thanks to Brookings City Street Department workers working hard to make sure that our streets are open and safe. On the main thoroughfare of Sixth Street, snow plowed from the streets piling up high on both sides was beginning to obstruct view of Sixth Street traffic from the side streets.
Over the last week, city crew worked at night and removed much of the snow banks.
We feel this has improved traffic safety very much and we are grateful for the work and dedication of these workers.
