Clay Carlson signs with Jackrabbit wrestling

BROOKINGS – Willmar High School standout Clay Carlson has signed a National Letter of Intent, indicating he will enroll at South Dakota State in the fall and compete for the Jackrabbit wrestling team.

Carlson won the 132-pound title at the Minnesota Class AAA state championships this past winter to cap a perfect 48-0 season. He nished as state runner-up as a junior with a 42-4 record, and placed sixth in the 113-pound weight class as a freshman.

During the club season, Carlson claimed the 132-pound title at the 2017 Rumble on the Red tournament.

At SDSU, Carlson is projected to move up to wrestle either at 149 or 157 pounds. He will join his older brother, Colten, on the Jackrabbit roster.
