LOUISVILLE, Ky. – South Dakota State is one of 10 programs to be honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as a 2021 Division I Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
Under head coach Krista Wood and assistants Kiki Stokes and Kristi Villar, the Jackrabbits put together their most successful season in program history in 2021. The Jackrabbits won Summit League regular season and tournament titles en route to making their first NCAA Tournament appearance at the Division I level and finishing the year by tying a school record with 43 victories against eight losses.
NFCA Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year are voted by member Division I head coaches in each respective region. The 10 region winners are eligible for the NFCA Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year award, which will be announced June 24.
