SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State cross country’s Carson Noecker and Leah (Hansen) Hisken have each earned their second straight weekly honor of the season after being named the TicketSmarter Summit League Cross Country Peak Performers of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.

Each athlete won their respective races at the home SDSU Classic on Sept. 8 and helped lead their teams to a first and second place team finish, respectively.

Noecker claimed his second straight—and second ever—collegiate race title in a time of 24:28.4 for his first 8k in the Jackrabbit uniform. He finished 10 second ahead of teammate Josh Becker to lead the men to their second consecutive team title in as many races.

Hisken won her third SDSU Classic title after running a 17:46.3 in the 5k to lead a group of six Jackrabbits to top 20 finishes. Her quick time also helped push the women to claim runner-up in the team scores.

This is Noecker’s second consecutive weekly honor, as well as Hisken’s seventh career and second straight weekly accolade of the season.

SDSU will have an off-week before hitting the road for the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 22.
