Colman A’s top Dell Rapids PBR 11-1 in 7


COLMAN – Adam Fritz ended the contest with a three-run double as the Colman A’s beat Dell Rapids PBR 11-1 in seven innings in the completion of a suspended Cornbelt League amateur baseball game Wednesday night.

The game was suspended with Colman leading 1-0 in the third inning on June 13.

Marcus Heemstra earned the win after giving up one run on four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in a complete-game performance.

The A’s racked up 16 hits.

Deon Entringer went 4-for-4 and Chris Meyer finished 3-for-3.

Billy Stitz, Paul Clark and Ian Barker added two hits apiece. Aaron Entringer doubled.

Austin Ross singled, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on Mike Prehiem’s sacrifice fly to put Colman on the scoreboard in the second frame.

Barker stroked a two-run double in the third to make it 3-0.

Dell Rapids scored its lone run in the top of the fifth.

Clark had an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. Deon Entringer singled, stole second and then scored following a pair of wild pitches to give the A’s a 5-1 cushion.

In the seventh, Clark drove in a run with a single and Deon Entringer followed with a two-run hit to make it 8-1. Fritz’s walkoff two-bagger soon thereafter ended the game via the 10-run rule.

Colman improved to 11-4 (9-4).
