Colman-Egan boys take second at Flyer Invitational

FREEMAN – Viborg-Hurley totaled 128.5 points to top runner-up Colman-Egan (95.5) for the boys’ team title at the Flyer Invitational on Thursday. Host Freeman (88) took third.

Walker Olivier led the Hawks with three individual victories.

He won the 110-meter hurdles in a meet-record time of 14.78 seconds. Olivier also placed first in the 100- (10.99) and 200-meter (23.94) dashes.

Cole Kriech prevailed in the 400 with a 52.86-second clocking. He took fifth in the 200 (24.5) and tied for fifth in the 100 (11.77).

Malik Poppenga notched a trio of third-place showings – high jump (5 feet, 3 inches), long jump (19-3) and triple jump (38-10 1/2). He added a fourth-place showing in the 800 (2:17.62).

Devin Lohr was third in both the 100 (11.57) and 200 (24.4).

Kelby Voelker took fifth in the 400 (54.1) and Zach Anderson finished sixth in the discus (113-7 1/2). Bodee Groos ended up eighth in the 110 hurdles (20.22).

Colman-Egan logged seventh-place finishes in the 4x100 (49.19) and 4x800 (10:24.24), while taking eighth in the 4x400 (4:16.79).

Girls

Burgin Groos led the Hawks with a fourth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 91-2.

Mackenzie Hemmer was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.49 and eight in the 300-meter hurdles with a 55.03 clocking. Haleigh Nicol took sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 30-8.

Elizabeth Moore crossed in eighth in the 200 (29.66) and matched that finish in the high jump (4-6). Jordan Wittrock was eighth in the 1,600 (6:25.24).

Colman-Egan was third in the 4x100 (54.73), fifth in the 4x800 (12:07.46), and seventh in both the 4x200 (1:58.84) and medley (5:09.82) relays.
