Colman-Egan girls, Tri-Valley boys win Chester Booster Invitational titles

CHESTER – The Colman-Egan girls and Tri-Valley boys won team titles at the Chester Booster Invitational on Saturday.


The Hawks racked up 149 team points. The host Flyers (114.5) were second and Parker (106) finished third.

Lake Preston (43) was eighth and Oldham-Ramona/Rutland (14) ended up 10th.

Colman-Egan won six events.

Reese Luze placed first in the 800 in 2 minutes, 38.5 seconds and the 1,600 with a 5:57.3 clocking.

Josie Mousel cleared 5 feet, 3 inches to take the long jump title. She was also third in 100 (28.1).

Olivia Baumberger added a victory in the long jump with a mark of 15-11 1/2.

The Hawks won the 4x200 (1:54.4) and 4x800 (11:19.6) relays, while taking second in the 4x400 (4:48.5), third in the 4x100 (53.7) and fourth in the medley (5:14.9).

Mackenzie Hemmer was runner-up in both the hurdles events, clocking a time of 16.29 seconds in the 100 and 51.8 in the 300.

Madison Voelker placed second in the high jump (4-5).

Placing third for Colman-Egan were Abby Rhode in the 100 hurdles (19.36) and Elizabeth Moore in the long jump (14-3 1/2).

The Divers were tops in the medley relay with a time of 4:51.1.


The Mustangs took the team crown with 121 points. The Flyers (103) was second and Dell Rapids St. Mary (81) took third.

Colman-Egan (80) finished fourth, Lake Preston (72) fifth and ORR (34) sixth.

The Hawks’ Alec Landis won the discus with a heave of 128-6 and was runner-up in the shot put at 43-2 1/2.

Dalton Voelker placed first in the shot with a put of 43-8 1/2. He was fifth in the discus (101-11).

Ryan Voelker was second in the 100 hurdles (17.18) and Nate Tolley placed third in the triple jump (36-10).

The Divers had four second-place finishes – Tate Larsen in the 400 (56.1), Rhett McMasters in the 3,200 (11:39.37) and Byron Bumann in the discus (118-10). The medley relay team was second in 4:03.1.

The Raiders’ 4x400 relay squad took second in 3:57.4.
