Colman-Egan sweeps team titles at the Running Elk

ELKTON – Colman-Egan swept the team titles at the Running Elk on a sunny, breezy Saturday.

Boys

The Hawks racked up 151 team points to take the title, while host Elkton-Lake Benton was second at 115.

Kade Groos and Alec Landis led the way for Colman-Egan.

Groos won the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.69 seconds and also prevailed in the long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 8 inches. He was second in the 200 in 22.74.

Landis swept the throws, taking the discus title with a throw of 126-7 1/2 and the shot put with a heave of 44-10.

Placing second for the Hawks were Bodee Groos in the 300 hurdles (46.14), Dalton Voelker in the shot put (41-0 1/2) and Nate Tolley in the triple jump (35-8 1/4).

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland’s Isaac Hegdahl won the 110 hurdles in 17.95.

Flandreau Eduardo Povea took the triple jump crown at 36-2 1/4.

Adding second-place finishes were ORR’s Peyton Roti (800; 2:23.67), Connor Spilde (3,200; 11:35.9) and Jamus Brown (long jump; 19-3 3/4), Flandreau Julson (100; 11.47) and Kyle Johnson (discus; 116-0), and ELB’s Taryn Krog (high jump; 5-10).

The Raiders won the 4x400-meter relay in 4:00.84 and the Elks took the medley with a 4:13.66 clocking.

Girls

The Hawks totaled 112 team points to edge the Fliers (107).

Colman-Egan recorded eight top-two finishes.

Reese Luze prevailed in the 800 in 2:20.32 and the 1,600 with a 5:31.75 clocking.

Mackenzie Hemmer was first in the 300 hurdles at 49.51 and finished second in the 100 hurdles in 16.42.

Olivia Baumberger won the long jump with a leap of 16-3 3/4.

Grace Anderson was second in the shot put (34-8) and Madison Voelker matched that placing in the high jump (4-10).

The Hawks won the 4x100 relay in 53.12 seconds.

Flandreau’s Ashtyn Bertram won the 200 in 26.61 and was runner-up in the 100 at 12.69.

Madeline Hursey prevailed in the 3,200 with a 12:57.2 clocking and placed second in the 1,600 in a time of 5:31.76.

Hannah Parsley was second in the 400 (1:03.36) and Elizabeth Hursey took second in the 800 (2:38.05). Ellen Thompson was runner-up in the discus (102-10).

Flandreau won the 4x200 (1:52.07), 4x400 (4:23.83) and 4x800 (10:48.89) relays.

ORR’s Brianna Prim took second in the 3,200 (16:49.98) and ELB’s Aubrey Wirth was runner-up in the long jump (14-1).

The Lady Elks won the medley relay in 5:05.74.
