BROOKINGS – Bailey Cords, a South Dakota State University senior from Janesville, Minnesota, will perform a recital at 7 p.m. Nov. 24.
The recital will be held in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the SDSU Campus.
Cords is an active member of the SDSU Concert Choir, the Statesmen, acts as student assistant to the Women’s Choir and Opera, is an active member of the student chapter of National Association for Music Education, and the director of the S.D. State FFA Chorus.
He is currently an organist at St. Thomas More Parish in Brookings while also being a choir member and cantor for services. He was awarded the Lorraine Bruce Award for Vocal Excellence in spring 2019.
The recital includes sets in English, Italian, French and Spanish as well as works by Franz Schubert, George Frideric Handel, Claude Debussy, Jean-Baptiste Lully, Giovanni Martini and Fernando Obradors. Cords will be assisted by Deb Kalsbeck.
