Cornhuskers beat Jackrabbits in pool dual

BROOKINGS – Nebraska beat South Dakota State 154.5-88.5 in a women’s swimming and diving dual Friday at the HPER Center Pool.

The Cornhuskers won 10 of the 13 events.

The Jackrabbits’ Elisabeth Timmer edged teammate Katie Drezen in the 100-yard freestyle. They posted times of 24.76 and 24.8 seconds, respectively. Ashley Theobald won the 200-yard IM in 2:12.24. Kristen Davis took the 100-yard butterfly title with a 58.23 clocking.

Timmer, Drezen, Grace Whitherspoon and Theobald teamed to take first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:38.08 clocking.

The SDSU women’s and men’s teams head to Iowa Central Community College on Saturday, Oct. 19, for an 11:15 a.m. meet.
